Hello, and Happy New Year! Today, we take a look at current trends to see what you can expect from the real estate market in the coming year.

In the real estate industry, the spring buying and selling season begins after the Super Bowl. Although it's still a few weeks away, there are people out there who are looking to get a head start.

Interest rates are still at historic lows, as 30-year fixed-rate mortgages are still under 4%. Despite the fact that the Federal Reserve has indicated it will raise rates over the course of the year, we expect them to remain at, or near, historically low levels.

The spring market is impacted by the number of buyers and sellers who come out. If there are more buyers than there is inventory to meet that demand, there could be an upward pressure on prices this spring. However, we're expecting inventory to remain balanced throughout the year, giving neither buyers nor sellers a distinct advantage.

Remember: real estate is incredibly local. In many cases, conditions vary by neighborhood. Overall, we're thinking inventory levels will stay where they are at, but we plan on seeing an influx of buyers as we get into the spring market. If this happens, we'll see an increase in sales for the Yardley and Newtown areas in 2015, which is great news for our already strong market.
