Welcome back to our video blog, we hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! We can't believe it's already December! Since the year is almost over, we thought it would be a great time to recap the year in real estate here in Bucks County.

For most of Bucks County, Yardley and Newtown specifically, the real estate market weakened this year after a really strong first quarter. There are more homes on the market right now than there were at this time last year, and it's taking a little bit longer to sell right now. On the bright side, we saw slight appreciation of home values throughout the year.

If you got a mortgage this year, you were probably quite pleased. Interest rates have been at or near historic lows all year long. Despite these great rates, sales were down this year compared to 2013. Will 2015 be any better?

The economy is recovering, albeit at a much slower rate that we would like. Because our market is pretty stable, there has been talk of loosening lending practices, which would greatly impact the number of buyers in the market. Although people are starting to get nervous about rising interest rates, we're not expecting to see any significant changes until the second half of next year.

Overall, it looks like we're going to have a very stable market next year. The supply of homes is probably going to shrink a bit, meaning market conditions will be a bit tighter than they currently are. There are several interesting new construction projects happening right now as well, so keep an eye out for new housing options in the upcoming year.
